My journey
I started out as a high school science teacher, where I quickly learned that being in front of a room full of people was not for me. I took my love for the biological sciences and found a place in physical therapy. After 10 years, I found myself wanting more quality time with my clients, wanting to allow space for their story and their experience. I left PT and opened a massage studio, learning how to hold space and to listen, both to the person and to their body.
I continue to seek experiences that expand my perspective as a practitioner. My own health journey has provided that pathway. I have a passion for running. Due to a childhood injury, I struggle with normal function of my low back and hip when running. I continually seek treatment for these chronic issues. While working with a Visceral Manipulation practitioner, I discovered that the viscera (organs) held some of the missing pieces to my puzzle. My healing progressed to a whole new level by releasing restrictions within the gut that were affecting the mobility of my lower back and hip. I was so enthralled with this world of the viscera that I have integrated visceral and neural work into my practice.
The other main modality that I have integrated into my practice is Sourcepoint Therapy. Sourcepoint Therapy reconnects us to our energetic template for health and well-being, restoring order and balance to our systems.
Due to my wandering path, I have an eclectic background of continuing education drawing on Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques, Yoga, and Somatic Bodywork.
Ella’s story…..
My Approach
When a person is stressed, the digestive, musculoskeletal, and nervous systems tend to be ignored and we find ourselves struggling. We experience unexplained aches and pains, difficulty sleeping, and problems with digestion. This can contribute to increased anxiety as the body/mind/spirit connection is out of sync.
I believe in listening to the body and honoring its messages. Our bodies know what they need to heal. However, there are times when we are overwhelmed and need extra help clearing pathways toward healing. My work helps to clear these pathways, allowing the body/mind/spirit to find balance and flow, which leads to healing.
