Bodywork treatments to balance and reconnect body, mind, and spirit.

Therapeutic Modalities

  • Visceral and Neural Manipulation

Visceral and Neural Manipulation are techniques that release fascial restrictions within the gut and the nervous system. By releasing restrictions, organs and other tissue are able to slide and glide upon each other. This movement is necessary for normal functioning of the body.

  • Sourcepoint Therapy®

Sourcepoint Therapy® is an energetic practice that re-connects an individual to their energetic field. This energetic field communicates with the universal template for health, known as the Blueprint for Health. This work is simple and non-invasive. I find that integrating Sourcepoint Therapy® into my sessions heightens body receptivity to bodywork.

Visceral Bodywork

Viscera are all of the organs in the body. Organs have ligaments, just like joints. These ligaments help to keep organs in their proper position, however they also need to be more flexible in order to allow the organs to move. For example, the heart and lungs need to expand and contract with each heartbeat and breath, and the digestive system needs to move food through the stomach and intestines. Through trauma (eg: falls, surgery, infection) restrictions of movement occur in the ligaments, reducing the normal movement of the organ. Visceral Bodywork helps to find these restrictions and release them to facilitate healthy organ movement.

Let’s look at a person who has poor posture and tends to lean to the left when working on the computer. The person’s left side starts to get tighter over time and soon the person may develop left shoulder pain. This person is unable to raise their left arm overhead freely due to a shortened left side. The left side may be tight due to stomach restrictions caused by the poor posture. Just like muscle tightness decreases range of motion, tightness around the organs decreases range of motion. Visceral Bodywork is used to return the healthy motion to the stomach, allowing the left shoulder to move freely.

Abdominal surgeries can play a role in affecting connections in the gut. If an organ (e.g. the gallbladder or the uterus) is removed, the tensions in the ligaments change and the system loses its normal range of motion. Visceral Bodywork helps to restore the normal range of motion to facilitate healthy digestion.

A more subtle example is stress. When a person is stressed, the gut reacts and contracts. This disrupts the flow of digestion and can lead to dysfunctional movement of the organs. Once an organ loses its full range of motion, it starts to affect other organs nearby. Consequences can be ulcers, cramping, ineffective digestion, decreased energy, and musculoskeletal pain. Visceral Bodywork helps the gut to regain motion and increase the overall health of the system.

Neural Bodywork

Neural Bodywork releases restrictions within the brain and nervous system. The nervous system is continually elongating and shortening with the motions of the body. Nerves need to be able to follow the motion of the arms and legs. When a nerve is restricted, pain occurs with movements. Neural bodywork releases the restrictions and restores normal range of motion to the nerve.

Let’s say a person carries a heavy backpack daily for school. After a while, the person starts to experience numbness in their hands. Numbness is a sign that the nerve is impinged along the nerve pathway. The weight of the backpack may have caused adhesions along the nerve, restricting the nerve’s range of motion. Neural bodywork frees the restrictions and allows the nerve to freely extend with the arm.

Fascial tightness around the brain can cause headaches, dizziness, brain fog, migraines, anxiety——to name a few. The brain is sensitive to pressure. Fascial restrictions create pressure. Releasing fascial restrictions releases pressure within the brain.

About Treatment

Treatment sessions start with an energetic introduction, which is generally off-body.  I will listen to the body to determine a starting place for treatment.  Once I start working on the body, the techniques are very light and subtle, addressing restrictions to increase flow.  The client will be wearing loose, casual clothing.  At times, it is necessary to go down to bra and underwear for treatment.

Sessions last 75-90 minutes.

Treatments focus on expanding health and wellbeing.  They can also address an array of complaints/discomforts including injuries, chronic pain, digestive issues, post-surgical pain, emotional trauma, elimination issues, to name a few.

Cadence

I am open to meeting with someone for a few treatment sessions to address a specific set of symptoms that have arisen.  I do request that a client come for at least 3 sessions so that I have a chance to get an overall picture of their body’s patterning.  I am also open to clients using these sessions as part of their on-going wellness journey.  When receiving regular treatment sessions, a person becomes more aware when things are not quite right, when things become out of sync.  They also become more aware of what it feels like to have balance and flow.

Pricing

Treatment sessions are 75-90 minutes.

A session is $130.  Sessions for seniors (65+) are $120.

Payable via cash, check, or Venmo.

Cancellation Policy

Please give 48-hour notice if you need to cancel to avoid being charged 50% of the session rate.
